A perfectly mounted blade is the foundation of every confident stride, clean edge, and powerful jump. At Everglides, we take that responsibility seriously. Every mount is done with precision, care, and a genuine understanding of how skaters move.
If you’re visiting us for a full boot fitting, you’re already covered.
All of our boot fitting appointments include the time and expertise needed to mount your blades—there’s no need to book an additional blade‑mounting service. We believe the fitting and the mount should work hand‑in‑hand, so we build that into your appointment as standard.
This dedicated service is designed for skaters who just need their blades mounted.
Perfect if you’re:
Whatever you bring through the door, we’ll treat it with the same level of precision and care.
| Mounting Style | What It Is | Best For | Pros | Considerations |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| First Fix / “On the Slots” | Blade is attached using 4 screws placed only in the slotted holes. | Skaters who want to test their alignment on the ice before committing. | – Allows easy adjustment after skating – No extra holes made during testing |
– Not suitable for jumping until fully mounted – Additional screws needed once you’re happy with the position |
| Full Mounting | Blade is attached using 5 screws in the front and 3 in the back, including locking holes for added security. | Most skaters, including those who want to jump straight away. | – Secure and stable – Safe for immediate use, including jumps – Blade can still be re‑positioned later |
– Re‑mounting will leave additional holes that need plugging |
| Full Mounting + All Screws | Every screw hole in the front and back is filled for maximum security. | Skaters doing triples, high‑impact jumps, or performing in professional shows. | – Maximum stability – Safe for all levels of jumping – Ideal for heavy training loads |
– Very limited ability to re‑position the blade later – If blades need changing or holes become damaged, options are reduced |
| Offset Blade Mount | Blade is intentionally mounted slightly inward or outward to match your natural weight distribution. | Skaters with overpronation, supination, flat/low arches, or hypermobility. | – Helps improve balance and alignment – Supports a more natural skating position – Can reduce strain and discomfort |
– Best set up at our Rink Shop location so you can test the alignment on the ice straight away – May require fine‑tuning after skating |
